Vocabulario capitulos 6-10 (ch. 10 animals and the verbs oir, decir and traer)

 

As a general study hint, review all pages that say PALABRAS NUEVAS, EXPLICACIONES, have an orange box with verb conjugations or are purple with a list of all vocab. from the chapter.

 

Chapter 6: Family and house vocab.

            The verb tener and expressions with tener p. 221

(remember that the adjectives are singular or plural (masculine or feminine)based on the things possessed, not the owner(s).                 Mis padres      Nuestra casa

 

Chapter 7: School subjects and related vocabulary (there are a nuber of expressions to remember from this chapter; sacar buenas notas, salir bien en, etc.

            Review Šer and Šir verb endings p. 252 Š 253

(used when the direct object of a sentence is a person or pet.  Not used with the verb tener.)

            Prepositional pronouns (used after prepositions) p. 262

                        Para ti,  conmigo, cerca de ella, etc.

Chapter 8: the table, food, numbers over 100

            Ņ-goÓ verbs; hacer, poner and salir p.287 Š 288

            Direct object pronouns lo, la, los, las p. 292 Š 293, 296

                        They go before a conjugated verb or can be attached to an infinitive.  Lo replaces a masculine singular noun, la = fem. sing., los = masc. pl. and las = fem. pl.

 

Chapter 9: the beach and feeling expressions with tener

            Dar and ver p. 317 (irregular in the yo form)

            Indirect object pronouns le and les p.323 Š324

They go before a conjugated verb or can be attached to an infinitive. Le means to or for him, her, it or you (Ud.), les means to or for them or you all (Uds.)  It can be used instead of the indirect object in the sentence or with the indirect object for emphasis.

 

Chapter 10: Animals

            Know animals. 

            O’r and traer p. 347, decir p. 351 know these conjugations

            Demonstrative adjectives este, ese, estos, esos and feminine forms p. 353 and notes

 

The preterite tense (past tense in Spanish)

            -AR verb endings        -ˇ, -aste, -—, -amos, -asteis, -aron - see worksheet, notes or book

            IR (to go) fui, fuiste, fue, fuimos, fuisteis, fueron

           

Extra credit: Hacer - hice, hiciste, hizo, hicimos, hicisteis, hicieron,
